Come on man, this is Karlsson's worst year in history and he is still better than Doughty. try harder.

An interesting trade if anything would be Doughty for Karlsson. But I think LA would need to throw in something else to make it equal value.

Either way both teams would be stupid to trade either player.

Sabres in on Drew Doughty? Yea right. Sabres are not going to part with 4+ pieces for Drew Doughty. Not saying I wouldnt want him in a Sabres uniform. But I dont see the Sabres having enough to trade for Drew Doughty.

What the Sabres need to do is try to get 4 to 6 good solid prospects and young players in the system otherwise this team goes no where.

Here is a trade I could see happening with the Sabres.

Let's say they get the #1 overall pick and Vancouver gets the #3 overall pick as an example.

What the Sabres will want is, Elias Pettersson, Olli Juolevi, Jonathan Dahlen, Troy Stecher, and the 3rd Overall which we would likely take Adamn Boqvist or Brady Tkachuk. I know some might say thats an over payment the problem is that is the only way someone will trade the first overall pick is if its a deal too good to turn down. Plus if the Sabres do get the first overall pick, while it will help them out they still lack organizational depth right now which is killing their team. If someone came at the Sabres with a deal that included 4 Solid young prospects or players and a top first round pick they could make that type of deal.

They are not going to target Drew Doughty in a trade. If Drew Doughty became a UFA Yea they might make a contract offer for him but they are not going to trade depth they do not have for a players who will hit Free Agency in July 2019.
